what enabled China\'s leap?

Chinese population has been 25% of the world for a long time, at least since 1980s, why it didn't work for China until recently, say 2003 or 2004?

some oversimplified that it's due to China's "open" policies, as if that's some magic black box,

the truth is that, the greatest difference maker is the equalization of productivity, due to almost free knowledge and capital transfer thanks to internet, free trade and last but not least, world peace,

in a peaceful and free trade free knowledge transfer era, which ensure equal productivity, then the basic economics becomes favorable to the cost side,

in a way, the weak becomes more competitive, becomes strong,

-----------------

environment has been a collateral damage, but hopefully, and I believe so, at least to the most part of country, things can be recoverable,

environment has always been a secondary issue all through human's civilization, China is no exception,

-----------------

there are risks, Internet can't be rolled back; free trade is under pressure and likely will adjust, in my view that will be replaced by "fair trade"; world peace, let's pray, and let's keep each other's head cool so that a few young chicken in China don't fall into trap of so called independence movement of Taiwan, etc,
