no matter where and who, no performing/producing assets and population will depreciate at very fast rate,
it's one thing to push for Chinese gov't to pay attention to social wealth distribution issue which, in my opinion, has started to drag the next phase of Chinese development; it's entirely a different direction to trout the unsustainable welfare benefits which are essentially the residual of the fruits of labor from the previous generations.
History had not been tolerant to nations that live on previous generations or even mortgage on next generations, history will not be neither. If you have been observant, the last French election winner's slogan is to put French "back to work". The sales of Chrysler has been billed as a window of opportunity to separate Detroit's legacy liability into a private fund and to make the US auto industry on par with global competition again. The welfare notions as we know are very much deep in water in this more and more post-equalized world. Anywhere you look, changes are in the air.
Human is still searching for the right balance between rewards to individual efforts and concerns to common well beings.
