the best way to fight against discrimination

discrimination is everywhere, based on race, nationality, sex, income, color of skin, birthplace, etc etc,
it's good that things are improving everywhere. In US at least it's the law. In China, with ever increasing population and class migration, the traditional forms of discrimination are getting much less pervasive,
that said, it's still there. Like bacteria in life. Every now and then, here and there, you are mistreated not based on lack of merits, but because you are different.
the way to fight it. The first is to strive to shrink the gap, try to break "in". If you are in HK maybe it's not a bad idea to lean Cantonese, Shanghai then Shanghai-ian dialect, if in Beijing then pick up some local accents too. If you choose US a place to live, they why not try to practice and polish English as often as you can find chance? If you can't crack the language barrier, chances are you might be stopped out of the culture gate as well. Many times, an "outsider" is the one most likely to feel rejection. A non-acceptance is not a discrimination per se, but probably feels much the same.
the second, and the ultimate way to fight discrimination is to try to score points on the merits, until it's becomes obviously silly for the potential offender to invoke prejudicial nonsense.
there are many wars that we'd never win in life. But by and large, discrimination is only a smallish problem in most of the more modern places.
