neurologist visit, Yangyang 2 yr 2 mo

This morning we went to the neurologist again.

She asked a lot of questions at first, then discussed with me the various plans for Logan's schooling. In the end she performed some test on him. Here's a summary.

1) Logan does not run properly. He needs PT/OT 1 hr/week, even if we have to pay for it ourselves. They can teach him arm swings and such. Dr is surprised that he is "discharged" by CCS for PT/OT treatment. She strongly urges us to start/continue OT/PT.

2) Logan's head circumference is the same as last time.

3) Logan engaged the doctor in a conversation about his "car shirt". When asked what color is the car, he said "mini bus", and later indicated that it was blue.

4) Doctor thinks Logan has mild autism, and the genetic test this afternoon will help us find out more. They will determine what tests to be done on him, and draw blood samples. Autism is known to be genetic.

5) We discussed the preschool plans for next fall. Dr strongly encourages us to keep Logan in the current infant program until 3, and not pull him out to go to a regular preschool this September. She says the infant program is much better than regular preschools in the stimulation the children will get. It's very important to get the best program before the age of 3, because after that, the development of brain slows down. We should try to put him in another program for the "off" days, or afternoon programs, so he gets as much social interactions as possible. Logan's problem is social.

6) This summer we will schedule another MRI, probably in September, after another Dr visit.
