Last Night

I watch you as you sleep
Bringing a smile to my face
You sleep so undisturbed
No fear of time nor space

A peaceful sleeper
With a sweet little grin
I wonder if you notice
That I'm staring at your face

To sleep as you do
Would be a blessing for me
But seeing you so comfy
Is all I enjoy to do

As I gently touch your face
You give a momentary stir
You roll over and find me
Holding me closer and nearer

When I finally get tired
And give in to get some rest
I awake in your arms
It's the place I love the best

I'll watch you again some day
As you put on your sleeping face
Everything's alright with the world
I have my special sleeping place
