This morning, Zoumaduren from American English World recommended artists Ilya Repin,Ilya Repin and JSSGallery to me. I searched their art work online. 《On a Bridge in Abramtsevo》by Ilya Repin caught my eyes. A graceful woman was walking on the bridge with green trees surrendering her, with water flowing under the bridge. Woman, water and trees were blended into the nature, so peaceful and quiet. By the way, Zoumaduren is an artist himself. 《Girl In Red》 is his masterpiece.(Please click to enjoy: Zoumaduren's Paintings )
From 《Wikipedia》, Ilya Repin(1844-1930) was a leading Russian painter and sculptor of the Peredvizhniki artistic school. An important part of his work is dedicated to his native country, Ukraine. His realistic works often expressed great psychological depth and exposed the tensions within the existing social order. Beginning in the late 1920s, detailed works on him were published in the Soviet Union, he was held up as a model "progressive" and "realist" to be imitated by "Socialist Realist" artists in the USSR.
As soon as I saw the 《On a Bridge in Abramtsevo》, the piano piece《A Walk In The Forest》by Brain Crain popped into my mind. 《A Walk In The Forest》is from Brian Crain's fourth album 《A Simple Life》. It is stunning in its uncluttered beauty. Gentle melody envelops me in soothing warmth. It is simple, direct, and honest touch my heart.
From internet source, Brian is a pianist and composer. He was born in Hollywood, California. At the age of six, his parents bought a baby grand piano for him. But he was not drawn to the keyboard. He likes to whistle and play baseball. Yet he would occasionally sit down at that nearly forgotten piano. He would improvise at the keyboard, playing with the notes until something started sounding just right. He was, without realizing it, teaching himself to play the piano. Now he jokes that the best thing that ever happened to him was not becoming a professional baseball player.
So much for the introduction, let's listen to the music and look at the painting. Hopefully, you will enjoy them as much as I do.
