回複 '鈴蘭聽風' 的評論 : That beautiful, melancholic passage is from Bing Xin (the pen name of Xie Wanying), one of the most famous female writers in modern Chinese literature.
It specifically comes from her collection of essays titled "To Young Readers" (Ji Xiao Du Zhe / 寄小讀者), specifically Letter 26 (written around 1923–1926).

Best wishes for the holiday season!

I woke with a start, and only upon waking did I realize that I was lying on the bed at home. The bed was not swaying; what swayed was the heart that had drifted together with a seafaring life. I asked myself: was I at home having a dream, or was I at sea dreaming that I had returned home? Try to understand.

“Your truth may not look like mine, but that is not what matters. What matters is this. You can look at a scar and see hurt or you can look at a scar and see healing. Try to understand.”
