Eligibility for Google Code Jam

Google Code Jam was an international programming competition hosted by Google from 2003 to 2023, designed to challenge coders with algorithmic puzzles. The eligibility criteria, as outlined in various sources, included the following key points:

•  Age Requirements: Participants needed to be at least 16 years old at the time of registration to enter the contest, but to participate in the final round (World Finals), contestants had to be at least 18 years old or the age of majority in their country of residence.

•  Google Employees and Affiliates: Google explicitly prohibited current employees, interns, contractors, officers, or directors of Google or its parent company, Alphabet, as well as their affiliates, from participating. This restriction extended to immediate family members, which includes children, spouses, and siblings of Google employees.

    •  Specifically, the terms stated: “Contestant is not eligible if he/she is a current employee, intern, contractor, officer, or director of Google or Alphabet or their affiliates.” Immediate family members of these individuals were also ineligible.
