Goals by the end of 2025:
Improve AMC10 score to 115-120+ (AIME qualification)
Develop problem-solving depth for AIME transition
Complete AoPS Precalculus + Strengthen Algebra/Geometry
Gain structured competition math experience through AwesomeMath & Frost Math
MathCounts State Prep Plan (Feb – March 15, 2025)
Focus Areas:
- Speed & accuracy (Sprint & Target rounds)
- Team round strategies (if applicable)
- Countdown round preparation (if advancing)
- Timed full mock tests
Weekly Schedule:
2-3 days per week: MathCounts problem sets (Sprint & Target rounds)
1 full timed MathCounts test per week (starting Feb 15)
Review errors thoroughly & track weak areas
2 days per week: Continue Precalculus (to stay on track)
Goal by March 15:
Scoring 38+ in MathCounts State practice tests
Quick problem-solving & mental math sharpness
Confidence in countdown round (if applicable)
March– May 2025: Conceptual Learning & Gradual AMC10 Improvement
Focus Areas:
- AoPS Intermediate Algebra (finish by Feb 2025)
- Weekly AMC10 problem sets (gradual improvement in weak areas)
- Timed AMC10 tests every 3-4 weeks (targeting accuracy & strategy)
Weekly Schedule:
2-3 days per week: Work on AoPS Precalculus (March 16 - Aug 24)
2 days per week: AMC10 problem-solving (handpicked problems from past contests)
Every 3-4 weeks: Timed AMC10 test + review mistakes thoroughly
Goal by May:
Strong foundation in Precalculus concepts
AMC10 scores gradually improving (~110 by May)
June – July 2025: Focused AMC10 Training & AwesomeMath
Focus Areas:
- AoPS AMC10-12 Prep (6/16 - 6/27, 2 weeks)
- AwesomeMath Summer Program (7/1 - 7/19, 3 weeks)
- Timed AMC10 practice & review
Weekly Schedule:
June 16-27: Attend AoPS AMC10-12 Prep (focus on problem-solving strategies)
July 1-19: AwesomeMath Summer Camp (deep dive into combinatorics, algebra, number theory)
1 past AMC10 test every 2 weeks
Continue Precalculus (~2 days per week)
Goal by July:
Scoring 115+ on AMC10 practice tests
Handling mid-level AIME problems (1-2 per test)
Precalculus nearing completion (on track for August finish)
August 2025: AMC10 & AIME Transition Training
Focus Areas:
- Complete AoPS Precalculus (by Aug 24)
- AMC10 timed tests & error analysis
- Introduction to AIME-level problem-solving (gradually working on easier AIME problems)
