This is from an article about Amazon's 5-day RTO policy this week. This is an absolute crisis.

You'd need to earn roughly 160k to pay for childcare alone for two kids in Seattle.

Probably another 200-250k to rent a 2- or 3-BR apartment for your family.

Most of the parents impacted here agreed to work for Amazon during the pandemic at a rate that made sense for remote work.

I know it's cool to say in-office is great for collaboration (assuming your office isn't full of people wearing noise-cancelling headphones while the CEO is still remote). But this will 100% force people (mostly moms I'd guess) out of the workforce.

Very sad to see.
