They can play video games till satisfaction. After playing Zelda and whatnot for a couple of months, no one wants to play anymore, only watching Youtube or anime. Of course I often suggest for extra homework, such as Kumon or AoPs and they would do it. My children, three of them, are very different. Got to use different strategies. #1 will always do some homework after gentle reminder, #2 has to be followed every time everywhere, #3 has to be forced, or under threat of losing video games/bike rides, etc... They're good, smart kids. I'm not worried about their future. One way or another, they will grow up and be doing just fine. Their future is theirs anyway. It doesn't add any feather to my head or any fortune to my account.
I hope they can get decent, well paid jobs and live well. But if they themselves don't feel it's important, why should I sweat on it? They won't be living with me forever, for good or for bad. I just do my duty and not care about the results.
