I sit on my couch, watching the sun’s rays graze through the window. A gentle lullaby-like song serenades from the radio, soft vibratos fill the air. I shut my eyes, dreaming of my wife, Margerie. Marge and I had grown old together, she had been my crush since I was in highschool. Since that day I first met her, I knew I wanted her to be the person I would spend my life with. I had grown old since then, and she had too. She was gone now, in a better place, no doubt. In my dreams, we are young. We skip through fields of sweet grass, children’s laughter fills the air. The world mellows out suddenly, and we are old. We sit on our patio as she watches the grandkids play in the sprinkler. I watch those soft eyes of hers gaze across the lawn. I listen to her voice, her laughter calms me. I feel my heart pick up when she speaks, she looks beautiful now. She looked beautiful then. Suddenly, the dream comes to an end. My eyes flutter open, the dull world meets me. I wish I could go back to that dream, my world had lost all color when I had lost her.
