我女兒今年泥巴畢業

1、食堂夥食如何？中餐有沒有？
     不錯。 同一個meal plan 可以到其他四校進餐 (she likes the cafeterias in Mudd, Scripp, and Pitzer the best).
      泥巴有不少 Americanized Asian/Chinese foods. 我家老大讀CMU，根據她的體驗， Mudd 的食堂比CMU好多了。
2、住宿條件？幾個人一個屋？一直都能 on campus ? 
      一般兩人， 偶爾三人。四年住校.
      COVID 期間因為 quarantine 的需要， 學校在校園隔兩條馬路處租了一棟full-service apartment
      building， 讓一些高年級的同學住那裏。不知現在還有沒有人住在那邊。
3. 附近public 交通如何？出去逛逛吃吃方便嗎？
   在泥巴念書一般就在Claremont活動。周末有時走路去Claremont downdown (20-25分鍾路程) 逛逛或吃個飯。
   去 LA 要從 Claremont downtown (which is commonly referred as Claremont Village) 坐火車去 （我小孩隻去過一次).
   Ontario Airport is 10 minutes away.
   My kid used Uber to get in and out of the ariport.  
   Walk to Trader Joe's in 10 minutes.  Drive to Costco in 10 minutes.
4、校園安全？
     很安全. Never heard a thing. Claremont is a safe city.
     You should be super safe as long as you stay within the perimeter of 5C.
5、申請的時候看soft skill extracurricular 多嗎？（leadership, community service, 一類的）
     Its AO used to say " We love you if you love math and like to write".
     They like kids who help others and enjoy collaborative learning environment.
6、ED1 比ED2 錄取高很多嗎？
     沒有研究。我家RD進去.
7、intern, career fair, 機會如何？
     學校很給力。我家的第一年summer去西雅圖intern， 第二年去Google， 第三年去Stripe。目前在大廠做SWE （去年十月 
     已經有offer了）。
8、第一第二年麵向所有學生的humanity （非stem) 方麵的學習要求比較多嗎？
    我們一直沒有關注這個， 因為她愛寫東西， 做了泥巴學報三年的總編， double-major 畢業 （Mudd's CS & Pomona's
    Media Studies with Concentration in Arts).
    泥巴很多人是joint-major 畢業的， 比如 Engineering & CS, Math ＆ CS， Physics ＆ CS，Computational Biology & CS.
    Double－major 比較少， 今年大概有12位左右 Double-major 畢業 .
    Mudd 的 double-major是一文一理， 文科去另一個5C college拿 (比如Pomona 的哲學，曆史, 語言, 和
    Media Studies; CMC 的經濟 和 Public Policy; Scripp 的藝術史 和 Media Studies, Pitzer
    的 Mathematical Economics).

    Mudd的人文教育是蠻強的， 我小孩今年五月畢業前， 拿到紐約時報的 News Intern offer. 畢業後去紐約
   工作三個月才回來灣區做SWE, 圓了她從小就想進 NY Times 的夢.
