Quant 與networking

孩子從Citdal event回來,遇到了不少MIT的牛娃， 感慨在MIT有太多的networking 機會, 在一起打撲克就能認識很多同類了. 請問在quant領域工作, network 重要嗎？如果想在這一行工作，除了Stem, 還需要有哪些能力和特長？
