兩口子工作三十年，忽略通貨膨脹（也就是收入跟通脹持平），每年每人需要掙13萬。這是稅後的，交SS交FED交州稅算25％，稅前需要掙17萬。且慢，還有衣食住行，一年至少花6萬（廁所的紙去公廁拿。。），每人至少需要工資20萬。

 

Or do it the other way, say you put certain amount of money into investment after paying taxes and living expenses

if the effective return is 10% above inflation, then you need to put 49 k each year so after 30 years you will get 8m.

(who can get that kind of return in 30 years consistently...)

or if it is 5% above inflation, then you will need: 120k each year to put into investment.
