一年結束了，明年會更好。。

祝大家新年好。

子壇這個地方，一茬接一茬，考大學排名是永遠不變的題目。這對我來說已經是過眼煙雲了。我要說的是，作為父母，和子女的關係是一輩子需要用心經營的事。孩子大了，不等於路同陌人了，他們還是這個世界上跟你最親密的人。你跟他們互相關心，互相提攜。

孩子離開家以後，父母一輩比較容易鬆懈下來。我現在要做的是避免這個，盡量維持在一個高能量水平的生活方式和人生態度，給他們以正麵的影響。

過去一年，前半年在消防隊做大概100小時義工，後半年在動物庇護所和急救站做大概100小時義工，共計200小時。新的一年馬上去上EMT的課，晚上的課，上到10點鍾才能回家，要讀1600頁的書記一大堆生詞，不容易。不過，在什麽時候什麽年齡都要有勇氣去征服一個困難的挑戰。如果我不能為他們做更多，至少我要我的孩子能通過我來看到這一點的重要性。

Your stage may be small.

Your part may be minor.

Your audience may be few in numbers.

Your work may go unnoticed and underappreciated by most people.

Your difference may be one person or one thing at a time.

But if you serve with humility and embrace your role graciously, you have served well.

Humble service happens when we realize we are the instruments of serving and subordinate our egos for the greater good of the object of our service. And that is good enough.
