I gave birth to my daughter last March, she was overdue so my hu*****and could only "look after" us for 9 days and then he was off to work. My house was small so I could not invite my parents to look after us, and my hu*****and's parents live quite far and they could not come around easily either - actually they came down just one afternoon when my daughter was 1 month old.
It was just the two of us, but we managed. I don't really remember it was being extremely hard - hubby did the cooking, washing up, I could manage other housework while DD was having a nap. Not too bad.
