回複：anyone could share opinion about life in Derby?

I used to live in Derby 10 years ago.

This is an industrial city at centre of Midland, the area where Industrial Revolution happened. A mid-sized town, not much commercial happenng compare with big cities like London. There are few big engineering employers, e.g. Rolls-Royce.

Good area mainly at north of the city. Littleover, Mickover, Alistree are family oriented areas. There's a big Asian population majority of them lives south of the city along London Road.

Not much good schools there unfortunately. Derby High is the best. Some families choose to send there children to schools in Nottingham (30 min drive).

Essential shopping - there's a reasonable size shopping centre at city centre. Better quality shopping can go to Nottingham, Birmingham & Sheffield which all within 1.5h drive away.

Renting a family house shouldn't be difficult. More houses than apartments available, which might be better option for your family.

In my opinion, this is a quiet city with not much going on. I wouldn't personally choose to bring up my children in long term, but for short term employment not too bad.

The most exciting thing I found of Derby was it is close to Peak District National Park. 30 minutes you are in beautiful nature.
