If you have a lot of mathmatic or physics background, I would like to suggest you to try financial industry...banking, insurance and etc. They need modeller with strong academics, math and programming. Don't worry about you don't have experience on financial knowledge. They fully understand that picking up financing is much easier than learning math.

It is not easy to get a job, but once you get it, it pays very well.
