Skiplagging, while not illegal, carries significant risks for travelers. Airlines can react to this practice by canceling tickets, banning customers from flying with them, confiscating frequent flyer miles, and even potentially filing lawsuits. While outright bans are uncommon, airlines may take away accumulated points, prevent future earning of points, or revoke membership in their frequent flyer programs.
