白沙公園位於新墨西哥州的Alamogordo 附近。
據說，那白沙是在冰河時期（Ice Age)，由石膏石(Gypsum)形成的。

為保護白沙和便於人們參觀，1933年被定為：National Monument。
On December 11, 2019, the U.S. House of Representatives passed the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2020, which includes legislation redesignating White Sands National Monument as White Sands National Park.
