米蘭以後是自駕的一段，去拿車，租車公司因為我出示不了駕照，無論如何不讓我拿車。最後，隻能通過Expedia canceled the original reservation，我老公再直接和租車公司在櫃台租，租車公司honored my original price offer. 我當時如果沒有我家裏用的有我一切信息的手機，換租車就會是另外一場噩夢。
回到家裏，好像是幾塊錢又ordered a replacement driver's license.
The moral of the story is:
1. In tourists heavy areas, guard your valuables as if your life depended on them, because it does.
2. The few dollars or few tens of dollars saved are far outweighed by the benefits of having your communication nerve center - your home base cell phone - at the ready at your fingertips.
