The town has many individually owned small motels and resorts. This is a water sport area for fishing, etc. Except for the park at the southern end the lake shore is owned by private owners. There are two tour boats that run regular schedule (1-3 hours) from the park. Next to the park there is an old fort (Independent War era) and a bike trail (nice one) goes down 10-15 miles to Hudson river. There is a hill to the west (take the highway exit south of the town) that you can drive to the top for a good view. Hiking is another alternative but the trail is a little rough.
