For your application, i guess the #1 concern is the image sensor, which should be the larger the better. The Sony models listed have actually bigger size (notice the different APS-Cs btw Sony and Canon EOS-M, which is smaller). Also the digital processing quality is said to be alot better on the Sony side. Lenz systems have to follow suit, which are alot easier/cheaper for the smaller image sensors. sorry for the english..
