the Hungarians are believed to be descendants of Magyars, who moved west from Urals around 800-950 AD, some 500 years later than the Huns, who attacked Europe around 450 AD (Attila, the "whip of God"). In fact my Hungarian visa (1985) reads something like "Republic of Magyar"...
