Might be ok this time of the year. San Francisco doesn't have many trees to start with. Winter is their rainy time of the year. How much rain they get varies from year to year. The only time of the year those Bay Area hills turn green is winter, when there is more rain. Mark Twain once said something along the line of San Francisco's summer is cold as winter in MN (something like that). Used to wear winter coat to work in summer, watching tourists shivering in shorts and T-shirts in the fog.
I go there almost every month. It's a fun city to be and good place to go any time of the year. To set the record straight, the San Francisco locals (inside the city) do not consider Silicon Valley as San Francisco. Cultures are very different. I think when most people say San Francisco, they are really referring to the greater bay area, not the City.
