紐約的雨，紐約的秋，不愁煞人，又不得不愁煞人。紐約人太冷，秋雨算是什麽？紐約人也太熱，秋雨來得有點淒涼，不過又淒美。每個紐約人都是行客、過客，都懷著旅思、征夢。不想相識對方，又禁不住要跟對方相識。在陌生人海裏，浮沉在熟識的天涯。天涯最濃的是秋意，最惱的是秋雨，卻欣然、默然接受下來，因為是天涯人、紐約客。

 
Autumn takes New York City for granted. NYC takes autumn for granted. Well before summer calls it quits, New Yorkers have already played up the golden season, so much so that maple trees are turning crimson in their individual dreams. Streams of individual dreams then merge into the Hudson River, flowing through September, then October, then November. The autumn months won't come to a conclusion and won't make way for winter, even a snowy winter. The NYC autumn is for all seasons.
