It's not cold detachment, it's detachment with compassion

You don't isolate yourself from life. You understand that you are life. Just like Jesus said "I am LIFE".

You understand that you are ONE with every being and all beings. With that understanding, compassion is automatically rendered without even your knowing it. 

You don't "do" compassion. Compassion simply flows out of your presence.

It's definitely not cold detachment.
