The  Lake Isle of Innisfree

 

I WILL  arise and go now,and go to Innisfree,

And a small cabin build there, of clay and wattlesmade,

Nine been rows will I have there, a hive for the honeybee,

And live alone in the bee-loud glade.

 

湖中小島茵尼斯弗利

 

我就要動身走了，去茵尼斯弗利小島，

在那兒搭建一座小茅屋，用樹枝編牆糊上泥，

種上幾行菜畦，蜂群搭建一排蜂巢，

獨居在蜂群嗡鳴的林間草地。

 

And I shall have some peace there, for peace comes dropping slow,

Dropping from the veils of the morning to where the cricket sings;

There midlight’s all a glimmer, and noon a  purple glow,

And evening full of the linnet’wings.

 

隨著寧靜慢慢地降臨，我就會得到安寧，

寂靜從清晨的薄霧落到蟋蟀歌唱的地方；

午夜閃爍著一片微光，正午紫光閃亮，

傍晚到處飛舞著紅雀的翅膀。

 

I will arise and go now, for always night and day

I hear lake water lapping with low sounds by the shore;

While I stand on the roadway, or on the pavements gray,

I hear it in the deep heart’s core.

 

我就要動身走了，無論是午夜還是白晝

我總聽見湖水輕輕地拍打湖邊的濤聲；

不論我站在大道上還是灰暗的人行道

我心靈深處總聽見那湖水聲音在召喚。

 

詩人簡介：（William Butler Yeats 1865–1939）威廉·巴特勒·葉芝出生於愛爾蘭，童年居住在母親的故鄉斯萊戈（Sligo）,深受英格蘭與愛爾蘭文學的熏陶。葉芝榮獲1923年諾貝爾文學獎。這首詩創作於1890年。全詩共三個詩節，每節四行，采用抑揚格六音步寫成，韻式為abab,cdcd,efef. 全詩展示出一幅清新自然的田園風光畫卷，構建了茵尼斯弗利小島的美景。
