THERE was a time when meadow, grove, and stream,
The earth, and every common sight,
To me did seem
Apparell'd in celestial light,
The glory and the freshness of a dream.	5
It is not now as it hath been of yore;—
Turn wheresoe'er I may,
By night or day,
The things which I have seen I now can see no more.
1 曾幾何時小溪、樹林和草原 大地和所有普通景象, 對我而言 都像披上了天光 夢一樣明亮新鮮。 如今再也不是往昔；-- 無論我到哪裏去 無論黑天白日 再也看不到了曾經目睹的往事。
