【故國神遊】香港大學掌故兩則

（一）蛻變

廿世紀七十年代末期的香港大學，正從英國殖民地模式蛻變出來。七十年代初期及中期如火如荼的學生運動已沉寂下來。當日親華與親英兩派激烈競爭學生會領導權，無牆不貼中英文大字報，互相攻訐的場麵一去不複返。學生會主席選舉半冷不熱。大家埋首書堆，似乎不問世事。例外的是、有為數不多、主要來自社會科學院 Social Sciences Faculty 的學生開始積極投身社區服務，改善民生。其中最為活躍的一員是日後成為香港特首的鄭月娥。據家母回憶，鄭月娥品學兼優，雖然說不上漂亮，但是待人接物，有淑女風範，談吐自然得體。她如其他港大學生一樣，廣東話夾著英語跟家母聊天或對話。鄭氏的類型，正是香港政府精英架構裏的精英人選，意思即是明日的政務官（後改稱政務主任 Administrative Officer AO）。果然，畢業後她成功登上了AO仕途。


（二）宿舍‘’屈蛇‘’

港大術語“屈蛇”，文雅些說，就是“龍蛇之蟄，以存身也”的蟄。蟄者縮也。縮，即屈。在港大學生宿舍屈蛇之輩，就是黑戶，潛居兼僭占宿位。當然，有好同窗包庇啦。包庇手法是邀請屈蛇者到其宿舍單位一起研習。事實上，在考試前、屈蛇者確是急需宿舍的，否則便會在往返港大途上浪費寶貴的時間。況且，窮學生的居處嘈雜，狹小，不宜專心預備升級考試。家母有宿位，人緣好，殷勤照顧屈蛇姊妹們，自然不在話下。
