It gives me some intellectual comfort to read this essay and to know that there are someone out there still enjoying reading amid the contemporary world of information explosion.

The author hits home in pointing out the fact that traditional reading is facing unprecedented challenge as reading, used to be an enjoyment for thousands years, is now being turned into a "painful ritual".

Nevertheless, I don’t think the traditional reading, as a part of human’s cerebral life, will be out of the picture whatsoever, rather it will evolve itself over the time, just like everything else on this planet, into a new form that fits the ever-changing society, and in the mean time satisfy more those intellectual minds.
