Actually it is very personal as to how to dress yourself. Once you decided to post it here, you were supposed to be ready for all kinds of comments, not just compliments. So don't take it too personal. It is not easy to be a public figure :).
I don't think there were any malicious comments or personal attacks to your earlier post. People were just trying to express their opinions or suggestions, or trying to help you, but the way of some talking might be hurting.
As you have said in your response here: "One needs to wear the clothes, not the other way around". So long as you are comfortable in those clothes, don't need to be upset with other comments saying that they don't suit you.
