Dries is bold on color and pattern. As a Chinese, I don't feel related to his piece. His interpretation of Chinse elements is very "foreign" to me. On the other hand, Jason Wu's interpretation of chinese elements are more sutle and sophiscitated in a way I feel like that is how those patterns/ textures/ colors supposed to be used.
But myself is never a fashion person and always "reluctant" to accept new things. Therefore, I can totally understand why people, or Chinese folks can appreciate Dries work. Other than I feel "strange" how he use those colors and pattern, the overall presentation is beautiful.
