For those Friends fans out there, you probably recall the episode about Phoebe's fixation on every piece of furniture having to have a story. For me, it's the same with jewelry. I don't care if it's not made of gold or silver, but it needs to have something unique about it, whether it's where it's bought or how it's made or what it's made of etc.. Of course, they all need to look good, too :-)
Here are a few of my favorite pieces to share.
The first one was bought on an island just off Stockholm. We found this incredible wood craft shop on the island where the artisan himself was keeping the shop. Too bad I could only bring such a small piece back with me. The black wood is made from ship wreck he salvaged off the island, and the little red/black bead is actually some kind of dried fruit from Brazil..
The second piece is a gift from my hu*****and. He had it, along with a matching pair of earrings, custom made at a shop in Seattle quite a few years back when he was on a business trip there..
The third one was bought at a local art festival. The flower pattern is made on the back of a Scrabble tile!
The next two pieces were also from the same art festival.
The next two have real flowers in them. I also bought a smaller piece of the one with rose for my daughter so that we can have the "mother-daughter" look :-).
Now see the effect of wearing it. No need for mask this time :-)
The last piece is again a gift from my hu*****and, definitely the most costly among the set.
I hope you like the pieces. May all who love pretty things rejoice :-)!
