Gary Cooper's High Noon Moment
In the classic Western movie High Noon, a lone lawman, played by Gary Cooper, faces off against four bloodthirsty outlaws. The townspeople have already scurried back to their homes, and his new bride, played by Grace Kelly, urges him to leave with her for a better place. However, he stays put, choosing to face death rather than succumb to cowardice. Honor compels him to confront the gang head-on, but love drives his wife to come to his rescue in an unladylike manner. When the gun smoke clears, love wins.
The moral of the story? You must hold your ground. You may need to fight dirty to get a clean shot at the oncoming evil. You are in a High Noon Moment.
A High Noon Moment will be a defining one for America, if and when the world's lawman suddenly finds himself standing alone, with a world order to maintain and national honor to defend. But what if he doesn't care?
Gary Cooper's lawman cares—convincingly.
