此外女網新秀，中國的鄭欽文，為亞洲第一個得奧運會網球金牌的，她的速度與應變能力都非常可觀，前途無量。

男子足球，是最大的（看）球，雖然不是世界杯級別的，奧運會的隊員更年青和激情（推拉踢一個不少），雖然法國的第二個進球被判了犯規，但最終1:0 勝出而進入半決賽；而美國隊被非洲最強的摩洛哥紅軍送回家。美國女足勝日本進四強賽。

連續四屆冠軍的九金女郎，美國的Hedecky， 不負眾望獲得800米冠軍，是美國女隊裏曆來得金最多的女運動員。

2020年東京奧運會上Simons Biles 因為身體與精神出狀況而退出全能比賽，被不少人質疑。
幸好，當時的美國老撾（裔）姑娘李書妮，獲得金牌（昨天她也得全能銅牌）。
奪得金牌後，Simons於社交網站上公開回應前總統川普, 她發文形容自己熱愛“黑人工作”（Black jobs）。Trump上周提出這個，非移奪走“黑工”的說法，令外界質疑他語帶歧視，暗指非裔普遍從事技能要求不高、而且待遇偏低的工種。但後來他說，黑工為一般的工。
本屆巴黎奧運會上，在腳受傷情況下，Simons 還取得本屆三枚金牌的好成績（美國金牌的1/4），加上以她命名的藝術動作，當今的體操女王，實至名歸也。
