RE: Ali (Marriage law change in China)

 Law is law and every province or whole nation should have its law to regulate most people’s life in case there is any conflict. Meanwhile people also should use law to protect their rights. In front of a good law system, everyone should be equal.

 

First, there should be a major principle/value up front when you create new laws. For example, the society in general wants to protect women, children and marriage. Second, Marriage law can’t exist by its self, it must be related with Child protection and woman related issues.  If the society regards women as a group of disadvantaged people comparing with men, it should use law to protect the disadvantaged group. If the society thinks men as a group of disadvantaged people, then it should create a different law to make everyone have equal rights to live in the society.

 

 

I don’t know what is the core family value in China to create this new law. I haven’t read it carefully.  Based on the law, people can change their decision or plan before they want to get married or have kids. What does this new law to encourage people to do then?
