The different thing about this novel, as opposed to many other books with romance, is that the characters are more realistic than those of other romance
novels. Each one has several faults; they aren't strikingly attractive or perky; they are just who they are. So many books with romance launch into
the whole cliched "everybody is ridiculously good-looking and popular and perky and faultless" approach, which makes the story extremely dull and unrealistic.

Rochester's love for Jane is portrayed through the words of the housekeeper: "The servants say they never saw anybody so much in love as he was. He was
after her continually. Nobody but him thought her so very handsome". Rochester is in love with Jane not because of her appearance, but because of her soul,
her personality. Losing Jane is losing everything Rochester has. He seeks her as if she is the most precious thing he had in the world. When he never
can hear a word of her, he grows savage on his disappointment. He never was a wild man, but he becomes dangerous after he lost her. Without Jane,
Rochester loses himself. Without Jane, he becomes another person. His heart is only for Jane. He wants to keep his whole heart for the Jane, to preserve
fully the precious moment he had with her. Their love brings courage to Jane and makes her become silly in a brave way to struggle for her happiness.
