Actually people's action, to a great extent, is determined by their personality, which is inturn determined by a grest extent by the environment they grow up. Do not read his betrayl as his report card for you. If you do that, you will be very angry. Think that as his problem, his weakness, and we should accept the fact that people around us have weaknesses.
