I have two points to make:
1. It that woman go ahead, work hard to creat value, she has became someone else. She is no longer anyone who is trying to sell herself.
2. How do you know Maria won't marry Bob, or the other way around? There is potential as long as he is not just after her money.
Why Maria have to change anything? She is great as she is.
I imagine "Bob" is offended by the woman's Ad, he does not want to be viewed as ‘money’, rather he like to be viewed as an individual. Even though his answer appeared to be very logical reasoning, we can tell he was angered by the Ad, and he intended to humiliate the woman.
