佳人黃檻外，寂寞入誰家。

嫋嫋淩波遠，娉娉競物華。

青絲雲鬢影，藍緞綺羅紗。

春色自難忘，天涯一朵花。

 

To A Beauty in Qipao Dress

 

I remember your silhouette in the last spring.

You were standing outside the yellow fence, alone.

I wondered which lucky fella shares the same roof with you.

In your steps the waves of a lake marched on.

Your beauty and grace came second only behind that of Nature.

Your hair, cloud alike, as if washed by the moonlight.

Your dress, vibrant blue, silky, flew in the wind river.

Soon I might forget the unforgettable spectacle of the spring, but I'll always remember you even after you disappeared into the other side of the horizon, like a flower that never withers.
