驅車大漠

驅車大漠

 

滿眼黑山枯草多，
大漠深處無楚歌。
逝水無限遊子淚，
渡過流沙第幾河。
 

Driving in the Desert

 

Driving in the desert, alone.
You have no particular plan,
no particular destination.
The hills are black, 
thanks to a recent wildfire.
It's a rare scene,
but it may become more often.

 

You're playing country music,
nothing like the music you had listened
growing up in a faraway land,
but it still makes you weep.
You live with tears,
in a remote city, with no family.

 

"You got a fast car."
The lyrics of the song say.
You wish you had a fast car as well,
fast enough so you can fly away
from your old life.
But you only have a tiny boat
to ride out big storms in time's river.
