七律 【詠菊】 “寧抱香消不落泥” + 英譯

【詠菊】 By 小貝殼


藕葉塘中漸漸淒，
鴛鴦戲水並頭齊。
秋涼帳薄東籬下，
酒濁攜詩入正題。
遠處簫長歎夜短，
眼前壽菊使人迷。
孤芳風中迎霜冷，
寧抱香消不落泥。
 

Lotus leaves in the pond have slowly become sad,

when mandarin ducks play there head-to-head.

By the east fence my tent is thin, the autumn, cool.

The wine takes my poems into this point like a fool. 

The flute in distance sighs that it's a short night,

and I am so fascinated by this marigold sight:

In the cold wind facing frost they show their charms,

not in mud, they'd rather die holding incense in their arms.
