馬鈴搖碎夜，何往蹊蹺行？千樹都無語，軟風吹雪輕。

寒硯的白話翻譯：

He gives his harness bells a shake,              它輕搖身上的鈴鐺，
To ask if there is some mistake.                   想知道是否一切如常。
The only other sound's the sweep,               林中除了淒風細雪，
Of easy wind and downy flake.                      再無其它聲響。
