【舒嘯譯】我們讀詩、寫詩，並不是為了好玩。我們讀詩、寫詩，因為我們是人類的成員 。而人類充滿激情。醫學、法律、商業、工程，這些都是高尚的追求，是支撐生活所必需。但是，詩、美、浪漫、愛情，這些才是我們為什麽活著。

今年初，Apple 曾借用這段台詞作為 iPad Air 的廣告。影評對 Robin Williams 主演的這部電影褒貶不一。貶者常講這片子煽情、過於理想化、人物簡單、對話膚淺。有道理。但是這畢竟是一部中學生電影，而中學生電影沒必要非有卡夫卡、加繆的影子。）

那些徒然渴望光明的眼睛，那些沒有含義的目的，那些奮鬥周而複始
所有人的那些可憐的結局，我眼見的周圍那些人群單調而汙穢；
其他人那些空虛無益的年歲，我和其他人也糾纏在一起；
哦，這問題！那麽悲哀，那麽反反複複 --
生命啊！生活在這一切中有什麽意義？
答案：
那就是說你在這裏 - 就是說生命存在，還有個體；
就是說充滿活力的戲劇仍在繼續，而你可以貢獻一首詩。
