A Winter Day in Maple Lake

 

Still remember that burning summer day
Lovers giggled behind the tall maple tree
Children paddled on the deep blue water

Now winter is here
Everything driven away by the wind---
The people, the leaves and the clouds

Ice claims its territory
Softness surrenders
Lilies seen nowhere 

In the heart of the lake,  twelve snow geese
Who flew from far north 
are dancing and singing to me
