《The War of the Worlds》，故事是科技遠比地球人進步的火星人入侵地球，人類在絕望的時候突然發現火星人全死了。那部小說的最後一段讀起來非常有意思，特別是在疫情當中。這是小說的敘述者在結尾裏說的：
