有人說世界會毀於火

也有人說，世界會毀於冰

憑我對欲望的體驗

我讚同世界會毀於火的觀點

但如果世界要毀滅兩次

憑我對仇恨的充分了解

我想說，冰的毀滅力也十分強大

且已大到足夠

Some say the world will end in fire,

Some say in ice.

From what I’ve tasted of desire

I hold with those who favor fire.

But if it had to perish twice,

I think I know enough of hate

To say that for destruction ice

Is also great

And would suffice.
