Of course we want to celebrate and project our best wishes and hopes onto her.
We don't get that much excitement over Table Tennis or Platform Diving, do we?
When we have dozens of tennis players competing and winning in Grand Slam events, we might take it easy.
But yeah I find it quite exciting about Li Na not because she won a Grand Slam (oh well yeah it helps) but because she won it all by her own and with her own team, and not through the establishment of China Nation. She is moving forward as an individual and is her own master. It offers a new path for professional athletism in China. I bet many top sports players in China are seriously analyzing her approach and will follow her foot steps.
She is not a God ... but she certainly blazes a new trail. She has boldly gone where no others have gone before, and having fun while at it. She CREATES, and in that sense, she is God. :)
